The mayor says he won’t criminalize the homeless but is he going to lift a finger to make sure the property rights of the tax paying citizens are protected? 

On Thursday, September 8, the La Crosse City Council went into about a half-an-hour closed session to discuss possible litigation on passing an ordinance banning conversion therapy. After coming out of closed session, a motion to postpone the ban indefinitely was seconded, but failed to pass a full council vote. No one seconded council member Chris Woodard's motion to open into a public hearing. The council adopted the ban on conversion therapy after about a 20 minute discussion in open session and voted 8-4 (1 abstain) to adopt the ban on conversion therapy.

The Save Your Rights Coalition is asking those of you who can make it to come to City Hall this evening for two reasons.

1. To show your support to the City Council in opposition to the so called ban on conversion therapy vote taking place this evening.  Bring signs if you're willing and able.
2. Join in a Prayer Vigil prior to the 6pm meeting.  Arrive at 5:30 at the entrance to City Hall.

The Judiciary and Administration Committee just voted on Tuesday, August 30, 2022, to recommend to the city council to strengthen the Ban on Conversion Therapy by weakening it (3 - 1).

The recommendation is to have only medical/professionals be banned from their free speech & religious liberties rights.  If you can't include one or more segments of society in the Ordinance, how can you include any?

Save Your Rights Coalition of La Crosse announces that the Wisconsin Institute for Law & Liberty (WILL) today delivered a second warning letter to the City of La Crosse advising the city council not to approve a newly rewritten conversion therapy ban ordinance because it is still in violation of the United States Constitution.

Please consider attending the La crosse City Council Judiciary and Administration (J&A) committee meeting this Tuesday, August 30, 2022, at 6 pm in the Council Chambers at City Hall to speak or to show your opposition to the city's ordinance to ban conversion therapy. This is the next opportunity for the Council to hear your input.

Save Your Rights Coalition of La Crosse announces that the Wisconsin Institute for Law & Liberty (WILL) today delivered a warning letter to the City of La Crosse advising the city council and mayor not to enact a conversion therapy ban or expect to be sued for violating the US Constitution.

The 10-page letter stated that “the proposal is unconstitutional or otherwise void on multiple grounds. If it receives definitive approval in its present form or a substantial equivalent, the City can expect a lawsuit.”
